Police said that they are searching for an individual who is wanted in connection with four grand larceny incidents that occurred within the confines of the 103rd Precinct in April, May and June.
The first incident occurred around 4 p.m. on April 28 when an unidentified man approached a 71-year-old man from behind and snatched a chain worth approximately $500 off his neck in a building, located at 92-47 165th St. in Jamaica. During the second incident—which took place around 4:30 p.m. on May 12—the suspect approached a 53-year-old woman inside of 164-09 89th Ave. in Jamaica and snatched a gold chain worth approximately $800 off her neck.
The third incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on June 1, when the suspect approached a 37-year-old woman in the vicinity of 149th Street and 90th Avenue in Jamaica and snatched a necklace worth $1,300 from her neck. And during the final incident—which took place around 4:40 p.m. on June 6 near 90-10 149th Street in Jamaica—the suspect approached an 89-year-old man and snatched a chain from his neck. None of the victims were injured during the incidents, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man who is believed to be between the ages of 20 and 25 years. He is approximately five-feet-eight-inches to five-feet-11-inches in height.
