Police said that they are searching for an individual who is wanted in connection with a robbery in Jamaica on Jan. 14.
Around 4 p.m., an unidentified man entered a grocery store/bodega, located at 97-01 Sutphin Blvd., and approached the 62-year-old man working at the counter, demanding cash and searching the employee for property.
The suspect then opened the cash register, removed cash, walked behind the register area and removed additional cash from the register. The individual then exited the store and fled on foot. A total of $600 was removed from the register. No personal property was removed from the employee, who was not injured.
The suspect is described as a six-foot black man who is believed to be 50 years old and weighs approximately 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket with black on the shoulders and a small, round patch on his right arm and acid-washed jeans. He has a beard with a white patch on the chin.
