Child Death Investigation
Police said that they are investigating the death of an infant on Nov. 8 in Springfield Gardens.
Just after 8 a.m., officers arrived at a home, located at 177-20 136th Ave., and observed a 9-month-old baby boy who was unconscious and unresponsive, but with no signs of trauma. EMS transported the child to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The city’s medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an individual wanted in connection with a bank robbery that occurred on Oct. 26 in St. Albans.
Around 12:30 p.m., an individual entered a Chase Bank, located at 205-32 Linden Blvd., and passed the teller a note, demanding cash. The suspect removed $4,414 in cash and fled the scene.
The individual is described as a black man who is approximately 25 years old, weighs 140 pounds and has brown eyes and a bandage on his nose.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old girl from Jamaica.
Leslie Martin, who lives at 150-33 Foch Blvd., was last seen on Nov. 8 around 4:30 p.m. in front of PS 226, located at 121-10 Rockaway Blvd. Martin is five-feet-five-inches, weighs 115 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a grey Gap hooded sweatshirt, black jacket and black pants.
