Blessed With Benefits

Scripture: Psalm 68:19 (NKJV) “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation.”

Allow me to start today by asking you a question: What was the first thing that went through your mind upon opening your eyes this morning?

You may be faced with financial issues or going through a difficult time in a relationship. Today, you may be super stressed from a major deadline on your job. In many cases, people wake up with the most concerning issues on their mind.

I was one of those people. I would wake up and think of all the challenges that I would probably face throughout the day, leaving myself stressed, worried and anxious. This has since changed however, once I realized I am not making things better for myself by starting my day with negative thoughts. I took a stand and my mind has been reset and reprogrammed to not focus on the challenges, but on the benefits I possess.

I have come to believe that the way you start your day sets the mood on how you will experience the rest of it. I got to a point in life that I wanted to experience the best day I could every day. Today, be encouraged. Remember, this is the day that the Lord has made, so rejoice and be glad in it. Instead of focusing on what your issues have to offer, focus on what God has to offer you.

The Bible says that His mercies are new every morning and his compassion never fails. He lets us know that His grace is sufficient in any season of your life. The Bible informs us that our steps have been already ordered for a great destiny. In other words, you have been chosen to receive the goodness of the Lord. You have been chosen to inherit His promises on your life. His benefits and promises have been stored up for you when you need it the most.

Through my job, I have dental, medical and retirement benefits that I can use when I need them. God has done the same thing for you, but in a bigger way. My job offers benefits with limits. In other words, you can only see the dentist a limited number of times a year, with only certain medications covered under the prescription plan. Additionally, co-payments are needed to see the doctor and referrals are necessary to visit a specialist.

The psalmist in this passage reminds us that God loads us with benefits every day. Only, there are no limits to how many times you can call His name. There’s never a co-payment when He performs a miracle in your life and you never need to wait for a prescription to be filled because all He has to do is say the word and you shall be healed.

Let today be the best day you ever experienced, knowing God has benefits stored up for you today. Stop worrying about your circumstances and focus on your benefits. God has victory in store for you today and the days to come. He has joy in store for you today. He has provision in store for you today. Every day, He loads you with these benefits. However, the key to accessing these daily benefits is setting your focus and determination in the right direction.

Don’t worry about how long you may be in traffic today or what mood your spouse will be in when you get home. Instead, reset your mind and choose to focus on a new direction by saying, “This is going to be an awesome day. I am anointed and will walk in the favor of God.

I am blessed and can never be cursed. God is directing my pathway and I believe something great and supernatural is going to happen to me today and every day thereafter.” Stay focused on God and receive His benefits daily!
