Two hip hop stars of the past are coming to Resorts World Casino this weekend to throw down those rhymes that many people love.
Ja Rule and Fat Joe will be playing a show this Saturday, Dec. 13, beginning at 8 p.m.
Both artists were in their prime during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Ja Rule is a Queens native, born in Hollis. He attended school at PS 134 and MS 172 in Glen Oaks before pursuing a career in music.
His biggest hit songs include “Holla Holla,” “Always on Time” and “Mezmerize.” He had six albums that made the top 10 in the Billboard Charts, including 2000’s “Rule 3:36” and 2001’s “Pain in Love” and earned four Grammy nominations as well.
Fat Joe is most known for his albums “Don Cartagena,” which came out in 1998, and “Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E),” which was released in 2001. Among his hit songs was “Lean Back” which was released in 2005. Accompanied by a video made for that song, “Lean Back” was a staple on the radio during that year.
The doors for the show will open at 8 p.m. and the concert is slated to begin at 9 p.m.
If you buy tickets for the concert in advance, it will cost $25. If you wait until the day of the show, it will cost $35.
