People Of Southeast Queens: Oct. 14-20, 2016

Major General Anthony P. German, the Adjutant General, announces the recent reenlistment of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard.

Specialist Shomari Ellis from Jamaica, has reenlisted to continue service with the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1-258th Field Artillery.

Specialist Kimarley Graham from Saint Albans has reenlisted to continue service with the 7th Finance Detachment.

Sergeant First Class Jean Johnson from Far Rockaway has reenlisted to continue service with the 1427th Transportation Company.

Specialist Shaquan Joiner from Cambria Heights has reenlisted to continue service with the Company G (Forward Support Company Field Artillery), 427th Brigade Support Battalion.

Sergeant Douglas Lewis from Jamaica has reenlisted to continue service with the 1156th Engineer Company.

Staff Sergeant Davina McDonald from Jamaica has reenlisted to continue service with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Recruiting and Retention Battalion.

Sergeant Omar Tsatsis from Fresh Meadows has reenlisted to continue service with the Company C, 2-108th Infantry.

“New Yorkers count on our Citizen Soldiers to be ready and be there when disaster strikes,” German said.

“And our nation counts on our Soldiers when duty calls for overseas service. I congratulate our members for choosing to stay in service and striking that balance between military duties, education or employment commitments and family obligations.”

“Every one of the men and women serving in our 16,000 strong Army and Air National Guard plays an important role and these Soldiers who continue to reenlist provide experience and continuity for what every challenges lay ahead for our New York National Guard family.”

Specialist Matthew Delfaus from Bell Harbor has reenlisted to continue service with the 442nd Military Police Detachment.

Lanell Gates from Briarwood and serving with the Company D, 1-69th Infantry is promoted to the rank of Private.

Luis Castro from Richmond Hill and serving with the 719 Transportation Company is promoted to the rank of Private.

Kemar Johnson from Laurelton and serving with the Company A, 1-69th Infantry is promoted to the rank of Specialist.

Marquis Paige from Jamaica and serving with the Company D, 1-69th Infantry is promoted to the rank of Private.
