Scripture: Ecclesiastes 7:8 – “The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride”
How many times have you had a great idea and you knew once you have worked out all the particulars that it would really make a difference? So many of you have had great ideas that would have had major impacts on your future and possibly on the future of your families’ lives, but never seen it come to pass because something got in the way that did not allow you to finish what you started.
Many times, the obstacles that you think were the culprit in keeping you from achieving your goals may not be the real culprit. We are often the biggest roadblock to our success. We can be our biggest obstacle when we lose focus of the vision that God has given us in the first place because our spirit is broken and doesn’t see the importance of consistency.
When we read the Bible, we find that it not only inspires us, but also guides us and gives us direction as to how we can combat the very obstacles that we think have hindered the plans we started, but never completed. The reason that the Bible speaks of the importance of completing something—rather than starting something new—is because when you go through the process on your way to completion, you will find that it is the process during which you become wiser, more knowledgeable and more confident.
Every accomplishment builds character and confidence. For many people who begin numerous projects, but do not complete them, this is often due to a lacking in their character known as consistency. When you don’t harbor consistency in your daily life, you are setting yourself up for failure. Believers who are consistent and accomplish win after win are mainly believers who walk by faith and not by sight. Neglected spirituality naturally tends to result in stagnancy, and then gradually falls into spiritual deterioration. Therefore, when we speak of success, the main thing we should be focusing on is spiritual nourishment and right association with God, which are essential to every believer.
God loves people who walk with Him consistently. God wants us to be a part of His great miracles. Spiritual derailment happens when were not consistent with the revelation, dreams and instructions that God has given us so we can live a life filled with purpose. Every Christian must be awakened and not be weakened.
We can never be weak when we have God on our side.
Never give up, never lose focus and God will work it out in your favor. I want you to be successful. I want to see you excel. Therefore, I pray that you will stay spiritually connected to God, so that He will keep his powerful hand of grace and mercy focused on your life.
