Community Board 13 General Meeting
Serving the communities of Bellerose, Brookville, Cambria Heights, Floral Park, Glen Oaks, Laurelton, Meadowmere, New Hyde Park, Parkside Hills, Queens Village, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, and Warnerville, Queens Community Board 13 holds its General Board meetings every fourth Monday of each month from September through June. The meeting will take place at the Bellerose Assembly of God, located at 240-15 Hillside Avenue.

The Caribbean American Repertory Theatre Presents: A Raisin In The Sun 
Walter and Ruth Younger, their son Travis, along with Walter’s mother Lena (Mama) and Walter’s sister Beneatha, live in poverty in a dilapidated one-bedroom apartment on Chicago’s south side. Walter is barely making a living as a limousine driver. Though Ruth is content with their lot, Walter is not and desperately wishes to become wealthy. His plan is to invest in a liquor store in partnership with Willy and Bobo, street-smart acquaintances of Walter’s.

Directed by Fulton C. Hodges, be sure to check out this take on Lorraine Hansberry’s classic tale. The first performance will take place Thursday at the Jamaica Center For Arts and Learning. The performance will begin at 11 a.m. The second performance will take place Friday, June 1 at the L. Charles Grey Theater, located on 190-04 119 Ave. in St. Albans. The Friday performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Both performances will be free of charge. For more information, call (718) 974-6487.

AirTrain Jazz Festival Presents Prest4Time
The AirTrain Jazz Festival series continues this week with Prest4Time on the AirTrain Jamaica stage. Join us as we pay tribute to Jamaica’s rich jazz history by presenting some of the New York City metropolitan area’s best jazz musicians playing live.

The AirTrain Jazz Festival is a co-production of A Better Jamaica and the Sutphin Boulevard Business Improvement District with the marketing support of the Jamaica Arts Council.
The set will begin at 5 p.m.

York College Graduation

Open Mic Nights @ The Artist Market on Linden
Calling on poets, singers, musicians, dancers, and comedians. You are all invited to participate in an open mic night that will take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays at The Artist Market located at 198-20 Linden Blvd. Be sure to come on out and showcase your talents with fellow artists!
